Project Objectives

The NSW Crown Land Commissioner required a tool to support policy makers by collecting, analysing, and presenting pertinent data in an intuitive manner, to facilitate near real-time decision support. The solution needed to offer complex geospatial analysis and data in an accessible, high-performance desktop and tablet application.

Approach

The consultant team designed and developed a bespoke web application, which saw the time taken to complete scenario modelling reduced from 4 weeks to 2 hours.

The tool presented an opportunity to find new ways of leveraging the Crown Lands asset for the people of NSW, by enabling decision makers and stakeholders to interact with and communicate data quickly and effectively. By having a tool that was easy to use and performed well, users could find innovative solutions to complex policy challenges, ensuring the highest and best use of Crown Land.
